      Adopt a Soldier

A collection of more than 700 photographs of World War I soldiers was digitised in 1999 as part of the Adopt-A-Soldier project.

We're delighted to announce that this set was recently used in GovHack 2016 for the iHero Application entry https://2016.hackerspace.govhack.org/content/ihero . Summary from the Entry: Our project ''iHero" is a web application that uses facial recognition to search Australian service photos across various conflicts as captured by the State Library of Western Australia, Australian War Memorial, National Archives of Australia and the State Library of Queensland.
