DFES Bushfire Risk Management System (BRMS) Assets & Treatments

Services relating to extracts of data from DFES Bushfire Risk Management System (BRMS) of Assets and Treatments. All Assets are extracted, but only a subset of Treatments are (On Ground Treatments only - Fuel Management treatments plus firebreaks and fire access tracks). Data has been amended from original schema from BRMS for use through SLIP. For queries relating to the data, please contact the DFES Bushfire Risk Management Branch at BRMSsupport@dfes.wa.gov.au

January 2026 update:

Schema for Assets and Treatments has been amended to include more fields and some minor attribute changes to the symbology field (ie some attributes have gone from Proper case to lower case; others have had slight rewording to remove (s) and just be firebreaks instead of firebreak(s)).

Treatments now include Unallocated Crown Land (UCL) and Unmanaged Reserves (UMR) planned and completed on-ground treatments as well as the existing BRMS Treatments. Treatments now includes a Source field to distinguish UCL/UMR Treatments from existing BRMS Treatments.

A new dataset DFES BRMS UCL UMR Risks Polygons has been created on SLIP and is included as part of the DFES_Restricted_BRMS_Assets services
