Weather API
This API provides access to DPIRD Weather data.
DPIRD has implemented and manages over 170 weather stations weather stations throughout Western Australia, as well as collecting data from other third party weather stations.
These weather stations provide timely, relevant and local weather data to assist growers and regional communities make more informed decisions.
The data includes air temperature, humidity, rainfall, wind speed wind direction, and most stations also measure incoming solar radiation to calculate evaporation and evapotranspiration (ETo).
The data is collected every minute by the station data loggers and then uploaded to a central database around every 6 minutes.
The weather station data is also sent to the Bureau of Meteorology (BoM) weather services as part of national climate data sharing arrangements.
Averages, minimum and maximum values are calculated and the data is summarised into hourly, daily, weekly, monthly and yearly data.
The weather data can be viewed via DPIRD's Agriculture and Food website where users can browse through data tables or view dynamic weather charts.
The Weather Stations API's provide registered users the ability to retrieve data to embed within their own applications utilising an industry standard data exchange mechanism.
The data can be retrieved in various formats (JSON, XML).
