WA Now Mosaic

This base layer imagery is a whole of state layer configured as a flattened and seamless single service. It can be used as a background in conjunction with other data services to provide a spatial reference and contains the most current 1:100,000 aerial imagery tiles, aboriginal community, regional and town site mosaics. It now also includes the eastern extremities of Christmas Island.

WA Now imagery is comprised of the current 1:100k aerial imagery tiles, aboriginal community, regional and town site mosaics, as well as the current Perth2 metropolitan mosaic. The primary consideration in determining the hierarchy of the mosaics in this service is 'resolution'. The best available will be used when possible. Occasionally, this may come at the expense of currency.

The currency of the individual mosaics will be a function of the demand for imagery in those locations. Some current, albeit remote 1:100k imagery tiles maybe up to 15 years old. However aboriginal communities and town site mosaics that sit within the respective 1:100k tiles will be quite recent. Perth2 imagery will be a maximum of 6 months old, typically captured in summer and winter each year.
