Forest Products Commission

The Forest Products Commission (FPC) was established in November 2000. Its role is to develop, market and sustainably manage the State’s high quality renewable timber resources for the people of Western Australia. The Commission works with industry to deliver economic and social benefits in the regions.

FPC operates under an Act of parliament as a Statutory Authority. This enables the agency to engage in commercial forestry activities in State-owned native forests and plantations.

Old growth forests are protected by law. Our management of the forests has been recognised in achieving Australian Forestry Standard (AFS) accreditation. AFS is a recognised international certification for sustainable forest management. This accreditation is based on rigorous independent auditing and is recognition of FPC’s ongoing commitment to sustainable forest practices.
